Zuger Märlisunntig is looking for helpers

Zug's historic old town area will be transformed into a fairytale land once again for the 40th time this winter. For an afternoon, young and old can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of fairy tales. But additional helpers are needed.

The 40th anniversary edition of the Zuger Märlisunntig (Fairy Tale Sunday) will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on 10th December 2023. The Zuger Märlisunntig association once again invites everyone to an afternoon in fairytale land, with around ten thousand guests being expected from the region and surrounding cantons. They will be captivated by the magic of the traditional and unique Zuger Märlisunntig in Zug's traffic-free historic old town.

The event still required a number of voluntary helpers (aged 16 and over), however, as reported recently by the organisers. They are looking for door attendants for the Märlistuben (fairy tale rooms), as well as helping hands for the information stand, the carriage stops and for selling pins.

Helpers will be provided with a costume and the appropriate make-up. The event lasts from around 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., including preparation (costuming, make-up, food). As a thank you, helpers will receive vouchers for the Zug cinema worth CHF 30 to CHF 80 (depending on age).

School classes and clubs receive a contribution to the class or club coffer, and small groups can also be registered.

Applications can be made to the Zuger Märlisunntig association on www.maerlisunntig.ch/help/anmelde/.
