Three occupational accidents within an hour

Three occupational accidents occurred within one hour in the canton of Zug on Thursday, 18th January 2024.

The first occurred at 11.15 a.m. on a construction site on the Chamerstrasse in the city of Zug. A 27-year-old worker fell from a height of 3.5 metres and was hit by scaffolding elements while on the ground. He was injured and had to be taken to hospital.

At midday, a cleaner was injured on the head while carrying out her work in a private household in the municipality of Cham. The 39-year-old woman suffered serious injuries, and was flown by Rega to a hospital outside the canton, according to the Zug Police.

The third occupational accident occurred at 12.15 p.m. on a building site near the Lorzenpark in Cham. For reasons not yet known, a 39-year-old worker became trapped between a wall and scaffolding. He was seriously injured in the chest area, and had to be taken to hospital.

The three accidents at work are being investigated by specialists from the Zug police in collaboration with the Office for Economy and Labour.
