Police call for witnesses – car driver sought after collision with moped

A moped driver was injured in a collision betweena moped  and a car. The police are now looking for the driver.

The accident occurred shortly before 7:00 am on Wednesday morning (9 November 2022). A motorist wanted to turn from the Loretostrasse into the Ägeristrasse in Zug. But the driver failed to notice a moped that was driving downhill on the Ägeristrasse. This resulted in a collision between the two road users. The  two parties stopped after the collision, and the 16-year-old moped driver told the motorist that  he  had not injured himself. The driver then left the scene of the accident.

As it turned out later in the hospital, the moped driver had, in fact, been slightly injured in the accident. The driver responsible for the accident is thereby requested to  report to the Operations Control Centre of the Zug Police (Tel: 041 728 41 41).

Carelessness and inattention leads to three traffic accidents on the A14 motorway

There were three traffic accidents on the A14 motorway In the evening rush hour on Wednesday, with two people having to be taken to hospital for check-ups.

The first accident occurred between the Rütihof and Gisikon (LU) junctions at 4:35 pm on Wednesday evening (9 November 2022). Due to a lack of safety distance maintenance and inattention, a 35-year-old woman driver crashed into the vehicle in front of her on the overtaking lane. She was taken to hospital together with her one-year-old child for a check-up.

The second report of an accident, a rear-end collision between two cars on the A14 motorway between Baar and Steinhausen, reached the Operations Control Centre of the Zug Police at 5:00 pm. The two people involved in the accident, a 33-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, were fortunately uninjured.

Almost at the same time and only a few metres back from the same place, there was a collision between two cars following a careless change from the overtaking to the normal lane in slow ‘convoy’ traffic. Here again, no one was injured.

The property damage amounts to a total of around CHF 35,000. The three accidents led to traffic delays in rush hour traffic.
