Pensioner in electric wheelchair falls down embankment

A 95-year-old had an accident in Oberwil near Zug on Wednesday morning. He rode his electric scooter down a steep meadow and fell several metres down over a stone embankment.

On Wednesday morning, 8th November, a 95-year-old man drove his electric wheelchair down a steep field and fell several metres down over a stone embankment. He thereby sustained life-threatening injuries. According to the Zug Police, the accident occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. on the Arthstrasse in Oberwil near Zug.

After receiving initial medical care from the ambulance service, the pensioner was flown by Rega to a hospital in a neighbouring canton.

The exact course of the accident is now the subject of further investigations, writes the police. The Artherstrasse had to be closed briefly while the patient was being rescued.
