Former city planning offices to be used as exhibition space, albeit temporarily

With the city’s planning offices having been moved to Gubelstrasse, space has become available at its former premises on St Oswalds-Gasse for exhibition purposes, albeit temporarily.

The current exhibition gives an insight into what educational facilities are available in the city of Zug. Speaking on the occasion of its opening last week, the head of education in the city, Vroni Straub-Müller said she was delighted her department was able to make use of these listed premises, which are to be used as exhibition space for three years.

This current exhibition, entitled the “Landscape of Education in the City of Zug - sowing, looking after, and reaping,” is not intended to show the full extent of educational facilities in all its aspects; it is more a way of depicting a snapshot of  what is on offer educationally in the city.

The exhibition has been set up in three rooms by Philipp Gisler, who can be seen in the photograph with Straub-Müller, and Corinne Jäggi of the “Child, Youth Family” association.

In the first room visitors will be able to gain an overall view of what education is on offer, with another depicting the people involved, and all portrayed in a clear straight-forward way to make it easily understandable. It was mentioned, too, how it was hoped visitors to the exhibition would become engaged, perhaps to the extent of making a contribution themselves.

Opening times to the exhibition, which continues until Wednesday 18 September, can be found on the city’s www.stadtzug.ch website.

It is hoped that, eventually, a lift will be able to be installed in this building, which already houses rooms for pupils of the Music School to practise in.
