Ships on canton's lakes ready to cast off

As previously reported, the ferries on Lake Zug are preparing for the new season which starts this coming Sunday on 22 April.

From then on, the Lake Zug Shipping Company (SGZ) will be plying to and fro across the lake picking up and dropping off passengers at 9 points on regular scheduled services.

During the week there will be three circular cruises and these will be increased to nine per day at the weekends. This season the SGZ is offering special combined tickets for both Sundays and weekdays. Then special lunch-time trips will be organised along with a Grand Zug Cherry Cake Cruise. Another new feature this year will be the Wednesday cruises in July and August on a "typical Swiss" theme. This year the season on Lake Zug ends on Sunday 21 October.

The new season for the Lake Ägeri Shipping Company (AeS) starts on Sunday 29 April, from when ships will be leaving the 8 points of embarkation and disembarkation between one and three times a day. Special events on this higher-lying lake this summer include asparagus cruises or other culinary speciality trips such as "wine and dine" and a South Sea Buffet Cruise

Then there are cruises on a musical theme with the "Nachtbuebe" (night boys) from Alosen and the "Echo vom Tannachriis" duo featuring local Swiss accordion music.

Cruises on Lake Ägeri continue until Sunday 14 October.
