Bentley ends up in lake

Two German nationals face prosecution after the Bentley one of them was driving ended up in the lake in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
 
The vehicle had been driven from the direction of Landsgemeindeplatz before ending up in the lake at around 00.45 am. Both the driver and a male passenger then made off, leaving the car in the lake from where it had to be later removed by a crane.
 
As a result of further investigation, the police were able to discover the identities of the 49-year-old driver and his 44-year-old companion. They have since been questioned, the driver having had to pay a deposit for any subsequent fine.mHis passenger also faces prosecution though it was not disclosed what for.
 
No mention was made of any pollution risk to the lake.
