51-year-old driver injured in overtaking manoeuvre

A 51-year-old man was injured after losing control over his vehicle in an overtaking manoeuvre in poor visibility on Thursday morning.

The incident happened shortly before 6 am as he was travelling along Sinserstrasse in the Herrenwald wooded area towards Cham. Despite reduced visibility on account of darkness and fog, he began to overtake the vehicle in front but, as he did so, his car veered over to the left towards an adjacent field. Despite countersteering, he ended up crossing both sides of the road and eventually collided with a number of trees on the right-hand side.

As a result the driver was slightly injured and had to be taken to hospital for treatment. As to his car, this was totally written off in the incident.
