29-year-old woman sustains serious head injuries in motorcycle incident

A 29-year-old woman sustained serious head injuries in a motorcycling incident on Wednesday evening.

It was shortly after 9 pm that the woman was about to try out a motorcycle on the Bösch trading estate under the instruction of an acquaintance. When she got on and started it, the machine shot forward and continued for 25 metres before hitting a concrete wall at full force. As she was not wearing a crash helmet she sustained serious head injuries. It subsequently became apparent that she did not have an appropriate licence to drive such a machine, either.

She was treated initially at the scene by the emergency services but as a result of the severity of her injuries it was decided to fly her by helicopter to a specialist clinic.

In addition to the police and other emergency services, the Hünenberg Fire Brigade was called out to deal with various fluids seeping from the machine and to illuminate the scene as night fell.
