20-year-old cyclist seriously injured

A 20-year-old woman cyclist had to be flown to hospital by Rega helicopter after falling down a ravine and thereby sustaining serious injuries in Menzingen on Saturday morning.
 
The incident happened on Edlibachstrasse. For reasons yet unknown, the women fell down the 30-metre ravine and was spotted only thanks to passers-by.
 
It was not known how long the woman had been there, though police suspect the incident had happened only earlier the same morning after being made aware of the incident at around 11 am. During the difficult operation to rescue her by the Zug Voluntary Fire Brigade, Edlibachstrasse had to be closed to traffic in both directions for up to three-and-a-half hours.
 
The police think that a car may have been involved in the incident, which is why they have appealed for witnesses to come forward and call them on 041 728 41 41.
