113 flats for rent to be built

The first stage of the Lindenmatt development in Risch was completed in 2004 and the second in 2011. Now building is expected to start shortly on the third stage, which includes 113 flats for rent on Luzernerstrasse in the municipality.

The 14,600 square-metre complex is actually being built by the mayor of Risch, Peter Hausheer, and his two brothers, Urs and Joe. They explained how all of the flats, which will have between two and five rooms, will have geothermal heating, controlled ventilation and either a balcony or loggia.

This third stage of the development has been designed by the ADP firm of architects of Zurich with the grounds to be landscaped by the Nipkow company, also of Zurich. Their plans were subject to local referendum and duly accepted in June of last year. However, as Patrik Birri of the local planning department confirmed, one objection has since been raised, which could lead to a delay in building work starting.

Of the 14,600 square metres, 85% of it, or 13,553 square metres will be for residential use, with the remaining 2,399 square metres made available for commercial activity. The front building, with its red façade, will actually be for commercial use entirely. The façades of the remaining seven buildings in the complex, which will have between four and six storeys, will be either light grey or anthracite.
